What is the different between spot UV coating and flood UV coating?

Estimated Reading Time: < 1 min

Flood UV Coating: This method applies a uniform layer of UV coating across the entire surface of the printed material. It creates a consistently glossy finish that enhances the overall visual appeal and protects the print from minor scratches and scuffs.

Spot UV Coating: This technique allows for more targeted application. UV coating is applied only to specific areas of the design, creating a striking contrast between the glossy coated elements and the matte finish of the uncoated areas. This selective approach is ideal for highlighting logos, text, or specific design elements, drawing the viewer’s eye and adding a touch of sophistication.
