What is artwork approval?

Estimated Reading Time: < 1 min

Artwork approval is a crucial step in packaging and product design in Australia. It involves a collaborative process of reviewing, modifying, and finalising your packaging designs before they go into production. This ensures your packaging looks exactly as you envisioned and meets all technical requirements.

Here are some tips to help streamline your artwork approval process:

  • – Convert your files to CMYK colour mode whenever possible. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key Black) is the standard colour mode used for printing. Converting your files ensures accurate colour reproduction on the final product.
  • – Avoid using JPEG or PNG file formats for artwork. These formats are typically used for photographs and web graphics and may not be suitable for high-resolution printing. We recommend using vector formats like PDF with outlined fonts and AI file for optimal printing quality.
  • – Double-check that all fonts in your PDF files are outlined. This ensures the fonts will display correctly when the file is opened on different computers and avoids potential font substitution issues.
